he response of Isa Brown laying hens during 77–85 weeks age to peeled unfermented cassava root meal (CRM) as total substitute for maize in diet was examined. Eighty (80) were assigned four dietary treatment groups (T1,T2,T3 and T4) a completely randomized design. The control (CD) contained 40% while the proportion CD replaced with 100, 110 120% CRM amounting 40, 44 48% T2, T3, T4 respectively. All diets isocaloric isonitrogenous. produced statistically significant (p<0.05) improvements by leading lower feed intake, better conversion increased hen day production (HDP) increasing levels diet. Although eggs obtained from birds fed had significantly higher yolk weight than those CRM, there no difference (p>0.05) egg all groups. best overall performance achieved (120% replacement)
